🚨FRAUD ALERT – PLEASE SHARE🚨

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls from citizens reporting a person identifying himself as “Sergeant Hayes” (H-A-Y-E-S) and claiming that there are warrants for their arrest through the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

This is a scam.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office does not have a Sergeant Hayes employed by this agency, and we are not aware of any warrants being issued through our office as described in these calls.

The individual appears to be calling from 740-625-3434.

If you receive a call from this person:

DO NOT provide any personal or financial information.

DO NOT give any identifying information.

DO NOT send or agree to send money or other forms of payment.

DO NOT engage in the conversation.

Simply advise the caller that you have nothing to say and hang up the phone.

Please report the call to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office so we can document these incidents and continue tracking this activity.

If you are ever unsure about a call claiming to be from law enforcement, contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office directly using our official phone number 740-962-4044 rather than calling a number provided by the caller.
